BIO
Noémie Baumann is a French visual artist with Italian and Eastern European roots. After living in New York, Berlin, Milan, Moscow, and Paris, she is now based in Nice.
Initially fascinated by the rigour of architecture, she turned toward the organic forms of nature, finding in the sea a living muse whose essence she seeks to capture. For her, the ocean is both a poetic and political space — a realm for contemplation and a call to preserve a world in constant transformation.
Photography is a starting point in Noémie’s practice. What drives her is the exploration of thresholds: between image and object, analog and digital, two and three dimensions, reality and imagination, visible and invisible, representation and matter.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, she seeks to offer a perceptual, almost immersive experience — where the image is not only seen but felt and inhabited.
