This series of portraits delves into the essence of the sea - its ever-changing beauty, its dynamic force, the blend of awe and trepidation it elicits - through abstract visual and auditory experiences.
The sea holds a significant presence in Noémie's upbringing. Far beyond a mere pastime, swimming in the sea and contemplating its vast expanses represent for her a profound form of therapy.
Each immersion offers a sacred opportunity to observe the glistening depths, confront inner demons and fully immerse herself in a spectrum of emotions. While the sea sparks moments of profound joy and gratitude, it also prompts reflection on existential themes, transcending the individual for a broader understanding of our place within the world.
Through her large circular photographs, Noémie seeks to raise awareness of the transient nature of life, the impact of human beings on their environment and the urgent need to find sustainable practices.
